Maya
I would like to thank Mike Matarazzo for our beautiful shepherd Maya. A gentle but powerful breed. I'll never forget on a cold December afternoon when Maya was called into action. 3 thugs decided to break into our home with my kids and as they kicked down the door, Maya quickly lunged at one of them and knocked him over while the other fled. She then ran to the back patio door where the third suspect was trying to enter and she scared him off. Cops were called and no harm or danger to my family was made thanks in part of Maya.

4 years ago my wife and i went to Mike's house to see a litter of pups. We immediately fell in love with one shy little guy that we eventually brought home. Kaiser has become a strong and confident companion but is also the gentle buddy of our 1 year old son. Mike's training and advice has helped us teach Kaiser how to be a fantastic addiction to our family who responds to commands and is exceptional with off leash activities.

Nova here just turned 4 years old and she has been such a good girl. So healthy and strong with a great temperament. Mike, your obedience training did so much for me when i was first starting out with her. It really brought out her shepherd intelligence and helping me understand her limits.

This dog has an incredible temperament. She is calm and quick to respond. She is loyal and protective. Great with my two young children. Playful yet alert to uncertainty. She is very smart. Learns by the 3rd lesson. We love having her. She makes our family complete. We couldn't image our lives without this dog! The quality that we received from On Guard K9 compared to other German Shepherds in my past doesn't compare. I will get another one in a heart beat.

Maya
Maya is now 3.5 years old and has grown and matured into a beautiful dog. She has an amazing temperament, incredible drive, and is a very fun heart warming little girl. She is highly intelligent, and strives to please. She loves to learn something new, and picks up on tasks very quickly. She lives to work and puts her entire heart into any given task. Thank you so much for giving me such an incredible dog.

Hello! She is FANTASTIC! She is extremely calm and yet always curious about both new and old things, people and experiences. She does, in new situations look to me to gauge her expected response (thank you for the heads up on that). She is "friendly" (with the people I introduce to her) and aware yet calm with others. She is very observant and has an extremely keen sense of hearing (which she uses to give me a "heads up somethings coming" bark <-- which I completely rely on at the farm). She is very focused and always tries her hardest to do what she thinks is being asked of her --> any lack in communication is on my part not hers. She is fantastic both on leash and off when it comes to responding to general (sit, stop, come, slow, enough) commands. I do still have a hard time getting her to follow through with the stay command. She still gets very nervous and "loopy" (if you recall from before) when she realizes she has not done what I asked her to do (particularly the stay command). I do use a pinch collar when on leash and she is perfect in responses on leash. Off leash, when we hike around the property her behaviour and responses are, in relation the the specific situations, exactly what I want. Generally, she is aloof with most other dogs, but rarely aggressive unless provoked. She is exactly the dog I thought she would be and now that she has matured a little I will be trying to work on further refining her response time.
